Kynrem fall is the 7th highest waterfall in India. It is located 12 kilometers from Cherrapunji Sohra in East Khasi Hills district, Meghalaya. It has a three- tiered waterfall falling from a high altitude of 305 meters (1,001 ft.). The Kynrem fall spread out in two different direction of the stream by getting merged while flowing down the last leg of the third tier.

Kynrem fall is truly a spectacular sight during the monsoon time. This magnificent waterfall can be also be viewed from the inside the Thangkharang Park. But you can also get a glimpse of the the bottom view of the falls from the road side that connect Cherrapunji to Bangladesh. The faint roaring din of the cascading fall poses a health competition to the noisy cicades all around.


On the day of the visit to Kynrem falls unfortunately the rain starts to fall heavily. So, our team waited in the car for some time. From the top of the rocky mountain the water starts to fall with the high altitude, under the bridge the water flows in all its grandeur. The gushing down of water at full speed on the rocks forming a mist and spray at us. It is an awe - inspiring waterfall when it rain heavily. After' Sometime, the rain stops suddenly forming the milky way of the fall. If one deeply observe one can feel the fog and waterfall as if a water boiling and steam that comes out of it or the smoke coming out. One can explore the real aesthetic beauty or pleasure and actual biotic waterfall during the monsoon season.

Cherrapunji is most famous for its highest waterfall and landscape so it will be a worth visit in the monsoon season because it dries to a trickle during winter season. The Kynrem fall is frequently visited by the tourist during the monsoon season when the falls are very active and present it with a marvelous sight. It allures all visitors with the natural beauty.
